ABOUT

A Lady with a Camera
Ever since I know myself I’ve always had an hobby. First it was writing when I could barely write, then it was drawing and a bit later during my high school years back to writing. During all this time I’ve always loved music (but not skilled enough to sing or play anything) and photography. Since I have internet I spend hours browsing photos and places. One day I finally managed to buy my own camera. It was just a point and shoot, but it opened up a world of possibilities. Then I’ve decided to upgrade to a DSLR so I could push myself a bit further. I can see quite an evolution looking back into my first photos. I guess I will never be a very good technical photographer (if I can label myself as a photographer at all!), all I care about is capturing a moment, be able to tell a story as I used to in my writing days and ideally capture that perfect light

I love portraits, especially those that seem to capture the soul, macro, minimalistic and BW. Recently I’ve been following a lot of street photographers as it’s quite free-style and tends to be about the moment, which is all I care about.
I have to admit that last year brought me a very good surprise, finally I’ve convinced him to join me with his camera and explore all around us. While photography is about expressing our views and capture the world as we see it, it’s even better when done together. So welcome to our photo tandem and I hope you enjoy it!

Started in this awful hobby in the strangest way. Wanted a replacement for the horrible GoPro 960 so I could make POV racing videos for my Youtube channel, and was met with a cynical resistance to that move. There was a change of focus to a small Point-and-shoot that could make decent video. But having a point shoot made me think if having a decent video quality was ok, but less than acceptable stills image quality when compared to the 60D that this household owns.

The choices started from an entry level Sony, migrated to a Fujifilm XF1 and ended with the LF1. Fantastic little camera, but very soon it started to evident that this wasn’t really what I was hoping for and it couldn’t be the workhorse that I started to want.

Interesting how trying to get a replacement for an action camera ended up with a Sony a6000. But that was really what it happened.

This camera is a great one. Even though there isnt a lot of affordable lenses at the moment E-mount native, the focus peeking feature is so good it makes it a possibility to use old lenses. A fast 50mm f1.7 was the first buy for just over £20!
